5.9-magnitude quake hits 52 km SW of Sola, Vanuatu -- USGS

HONG KONG, May 28 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted 52 km SW of Sola, Vanuatu at 08:57:48 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 202.4 km, was initially determined to be at 14.27 degrees south latitude and 167.28 degrees east longitude.
