5.9-magnitude quake hits 285 km WSW of Houma, Tonga: USGS

NEW YORK, June 6 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted 285 km WSW of Houma, Tonga at 19:28:31 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 364.5 km, was initially determined to be at 22.07 degrees south latitude and 177.88 degrees west longitude.
