6.3-magnitude quake hits south of Fiji Islands: GFZ

NEW YORK, July 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 jolted south of Fiji Islands at 17:53:41 GMT on Tuesday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 551.4 km, was initially determined to be at 23.36 degrees south latitude and 178.93 degrees east longitude.
