5.6-magnitude quake hits 98 km west of Sola, Vanuatu -- USGS

BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted 98 km west of Sola, Vanuatu, at 2319 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 35 km, was initially determined to be at 13.78 degrees south latitude and 166.65 degrees east longitude.
