HONG KONG, July 25 (Xinhua) -- John Lee, chief executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), met here on Friday with Johnny Koanapo Rasou, deputy prime minister and minister of finance and economic management of Vanuatu.
Welcoming Koanapo and his delegation to Hong Kong to attend economic and trade cooperation events, Lee said Hong Kong welcomes enterprises from Vanuatu to leverage the city's role as a "super connector" and "super value-adder" to explore overseas and Chinese mainland markets, and enhance trade and business exchanges between the two sides.
Hong Kong is leveraging its advantages of connecting the Chinese mainland and the world under the "one country, two systems" principle and is actively deepening international exchanges and cooperation, said Lee.
He noted that besides strengthening traditional markets, Hong Kong will further explore emerging markets including countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and expand economic and trade networks with Global South countries including Vanuatu.
