Xi extends congratulations on Vanuatu's Independence Day

BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping extended congratulations Wednesday to Vanuatuan President Nikenike Vurobaravu on the country's 45th anniversary of independence.

In his message, Xi depicts Vanuatu as a good friend and partner of China.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 43 years ago, both sides have been committed to mutual respect, equality and mutually beneficial cooperation, enhancing the well-being of the two peoples and promoting regional stability and prosperity, he said.

Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Vanuatu relations and stands ready to work with Vurobaravu to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and push for a closer China-Vanuatu community with a shared future in the new era so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
